Most of them had flown in from out of town for a long weekend to be together and were such a pleasure to photograph! I really had fun...and even though it was FREEZING, they were all good sports! They made my job easy!

Love the brother sister shots.....and especially the shots with mom and dad! It's obvious alot of love is shared here! I think it is awesome that mom wanted updated family shots with her grown children. So many families stop taking family pictures once children hit high school and beyond, but you have to remember to capture life at every stage! You will be glad you did!

Baby Sam was just shy of two weeks for his first little official photo session! Check out the sweetnesss....and his little trademark mowhawk! This would make an awesome nursery canvas or super large print!!! And of course, I just have to capture those sweet little feet!

This family has the most AMAZING lime green wall in their living room which was so much fun to photograph against! Not only was the color so intense and provided an instant backdrop but it also doubled as a reflector! I love the commercial feel of some of these shots!

just LOVE this one for some random reason.....I think because it's such a slice of life...watching two parents tending to such a small little guy!

 

He let out his super-power cry here to alert us that he was done with pics....I couldn't resist....had to snap away! So fierce, yet so absolutely cute!

Thank you Davis family for letting me come hang out to capture little Sam's Saturday morning! He is super cute!

So true! This was a fun shoot, hanging downtown Apex with the Hope Chapel pastors.  Once we finally did get to our desired location, they were not short of ideas...and I thought photographing two year olds was hard work!!! We ended up in the middle of Salem Street recreating the Beatles infamous Abbey Road pic, sipping coffee at Common Grounds coffee shop (you know pastors and their coffee), the roof of the Apex Fire Department just to name a few locations! We got some great shots....check out this fun bunch:

I have largely taken January and February off from photo sessions. I have rarely sat at my computer. I have focused on enjoying my family and It has been a welcome break after the frenzied pace I have kept the last six months. I am finding myself itching to get my creative juices flowing again and have a couple of shoots lined up beginning in March. So you will soon be seeing images from my wonderful clients sessions....not just my Macy Grace......but until then and just because I can.....I LOVE these images from bathtime...so classic!

no baby or child, no matter how cute, is THE perfect model at all times ....parents sometimes seem to get stressed if their sweet child is not cooperating with me and my camera on the day of their photo shoot. Seriously parents....no worries! They ALWAYS come around. Trust me! Capturing kids at their best is my specialty! The key is to stay calm, relaxed and unhurried.....and a huge lollipop helps dry those tears, too!
